Which ever you choose, you can also have them be tall or short. Then there are a few additional steps that I take to protect the wood so that it lasts for a long time. Once the site is chosen there may be a need for site preparation. Clearing of existing plants, weeds, etc, Rototilling of existing soil and trenching for a water line to service the automatic drip irrigation. You definitely want to have drip irrigation.
